How is the work performed?
The work takes about three hours and follows three steps: prep, application, cure.
- Prep. We sand down the existing enamel to a clean substrate, fill any chips, and clean the surface with a degreaser. Dust is contained with a vacuum-assisted sander, not blown around the apartment.
- Application. The pour-on coating is mixed fresh by weight and poured along the tub rim. Gravity carries it down the walls and across the floor of the tub, where it self-levels into a smooth glossy finish. No spraying, no aerosols.
- Cure. The drain stays taped off for 24 hours while the coating hardens. After that, the tub is ready for normal daily use.
What material is used?
An epoxy-based liquid polymer developed specifically for bathtub refinishing. It’s poured rather than sprayed, which lets it self-level into a thicker, more durable finish than spray-on coatings. The material is low-VOC and low-odor — there’s a mild smell during application that clears within an hour or two, and once cured it’s completely inert.
