Written warranty on every refinished tub
Cast iron and steel bathtubs refinished by New York Tubs are covered against peeling and adhesion failure. If the coating fails, we redo the whole tub — not a patch.
What the warranty protects
- Peeling of the refinished coating
- Loss of adhesion — the finish lifting from the tub surface
- Failure of the refinishing materials under normal household use
What the warranty does not cover
- Physical damage — chips or nicks from sharp or falling objects, misuse, or neglect
- Chemical damage — stains or discoloration from bleach, chlorine, hair dye, rust, or abrasive cleaners
- Structural movement — cracks caused by shifting of the floor or the tub’s substructure
- Lack of cleaning — surface wear from not cleaning the tub regularly
- Change of use — a home turned into a rental or commercial space without notifying us
How a warranty claim works
Tell us
Text or email a photo of the problem within 30 days of noticing it. Include the address and the approximate date of the job.
We review
We check whether the issue is a coating failure covered by the warranty and reply with next steps, usually the same week.
We make it right
For a valid claim we refinish the entire tub again at no charge, or refund the original cost of the job — at our discretion.
Cure time — the first 24 hours
The coating needs 24 hours to cure. During this time don’t use the tub and keep the surface dry. This step is what makes the finish last, so please don’t skip it.
Cleaning
Use only non-abrasive cleaners without bleach or chlorine. Abrasive powders, scrubbing pads, and harsh chemicals damage the finish and are not covered.
Color
Our standard color is off-white. Other colors are available on request and may change the price and scheduling.
Plumbing
Our technicians are not licensed plumbers. Removing and reinstalling the drain, overflow plate, spout, or handles is a courtesy, and you accept responsibility for any resulting damage. If your fixtures are old or corroded, let us know before the visit.
The warranty does not extend to caulking, plumbing, or shower doors. A travel charge may apply for warranty visits outside our regular service area.
