We’re a bathtub refinishing company based in Brooklyn — our shop is in Borough Park, and most of the work we do is right here across the borough. Because Brooklyn is home, there’s no travel fee on Brooklyn jobs, and we can usually schedule them faster than work in the other boroughs.
Our pour-on coating is a thick two-part material that bonds to the prepared tub and cures into a hard, smooth finish. It rebuilds the surface instead of just covering it — which is why it outlasts a thin spray-on coat by years.
Won’t peel or fade — strong adhesion keeps the finish bright, with no peeling, cracking, or fading.
Takes a hit — resilient enough to shrug off dropped shampoo bottles and everyday wear.
10–15 years with proper care — it stays as bright as the day it was applied.
Easy to keep clean — resists rust and dirt, so it wipes clean and saves you time and money.

Refinishing keeps your tub in place and costs a fraction of a full replacement.
Yes — clawfoot and other cast iron tubs are some of our favorite Brooklyn work. We strip the worn surface, repair chips and rust, and pour on a fresh white finish, inside and out. The tub keeps its shape and character; it just looks new again.
Refinishing is a surface restoration, not a renovation — no demolition, no plumbing changes, nothing structural — so it doesn’t touch anything a landmark designation covers. You’re keeping the original fixture, which is usually the goal in a historic home.
Just the inside — the bathing surface. The outside of a clawfoot is painted enamel and needs a different process (sanding, priming, repainting), so a regular painter is the right choice for the exterior and the feet.
If the tub is solid cast iron, keeping it is almost always the better call. New tubs are usually thin steel or acrylic, while your original is heavy, deep, and built to last. Refinishing costs a fraction of replacement and avoids tearing into tiled walls. We work on cast iron and steel only — not acrylic.
It all comes up the stairs in cans — there’s no heavy equipment and nothing bulky to move. Brooklyn rowhouses and walk-ups are most of what we do, so a top-floor bathroom is no problem. Nothing leaves the apartment either, since the tub stays in place.
Brooklyn tubs start at $435, with one visit of about 3–4 hours and the tub ready to use in roughly 24 hours. With normal care the finish lasts 10 to 15 years, backed by a 5-year written warranty. We finish in white only.
When you book with New York Tubs, you aren't getting a random sub-contractor. You're getting a master refinisher with over a decade of experience.
For over a decade I've worked in tub refinishing, and I've personally refinished hundreds of tubs — every job done by me, start to finish. My reputation is built on durable, long-lasting results, a clean process with no solvent fumes, and full respect for your home.

|---|---|---|
| Typical lifespan | 1-3 years | |
| On-Site Work Time | ~5 hours | |
| Coat thickness | 10 mils | |
| Odor during work | Strong solvent smell, lingers | |
| VOC content | High | |
| Safe to stay home | No — residents usually vacate | |

| Long-Term Value | Spray-on has a lower up-front cost, but the coating usually needs to be redone every couple of years. | A pour-on coat lasts long enough that most clients replace or sell the tub before the finish needs to be redone. |
We’ve served Brooklyn (Kings County) for years — careful prep, a clean workspace, and we don’t cut corners. The pour-on coat goes on in about an hour; with prep, the whole job takes around 3 hours, and the tub is ready to use in about 24 hours.
More affordable — reglazing is an easier and more affordable option than replacing your bathtub, which can be expensive and time-consuming. The cost of the fixture, finishing materials, plumbing materials, and labor can all add up quickly.
No bathroom for days — it’s time-consuming and inconvenient not to have access to your bathroom during the renovation.
Dirt, mess, and stress — the dirt and mess of demolition can add to your stress.
Surprise redecorating — if the walls or floor are damaged during the demolition, you have to factor in redecorating, too.
If your tub is in Brooklyn, we come to it — from Greenpoint and Williamsburg down to Coney Island and Sheepshead Bay.
